Questioning Preparation Tactics

With all the talk surrounding the soon to come "harsher" times for us (humans) be it food shortages, flood etc etc etc.
I find myself wondering whether or not I should prepare full on - stocking the house with food and water - or to just live life and accept whatever fate I am dealt?

Is anyone else having this issue? I try not to focus on it too much, and be more aware of the present, but I AM human afterall. Any thoughts, suggestions, or advice?

what about water? even if its tap i still feel like i should be filling up bottles and stashing them

i stock a week or two worth of dried and canned food...if nothing happens, eat them. no problemo
