A bizarre animal corpse has washed up on a Canadian beach, reviving memories of the infamous “Montauk monster” that was discovered in 2008.

Two nurses discovered the animal corpse floating at the edge of a lake while they were walking their dog near the town of Kitchenuhmaykoosib in Ontario, Canada.
According to their story, the dog sniffed the creature and pulled it to the shore.
The pair took photographs of the body — which had matted fur, a long rat-like tail and an ivory-white feline face — then left it behind.
When locals heard their story they returned to see it for themselves — but it had vanished.
Photographs of the creature have now been posted on a local website, along with a brief description of the finding.
“This creature was first discovered by Sam the Dog, a local dog,” the post reads.
“It was discovered first week of May in the creek section of town … the creature’s tail is like a rat’s tail and it’s a foot long.”
The images have prompted widespread speculation online, with some saying it bears a resemblance to a boar, and others a bobcat.
The discovery has drawn comparisons with photographs taken of another mystery creature — the so-called “Montauk Monster” — which supposedly washed up in New York in 2008.
The photos received widespread media attention but the carcass was never found, prompting speculation the discovery was a hoax.
Another unidentified “Gollum-like” creature that was found in Panama last year was also compared to the Montauk cryptid.
That corpse was also never recovered by authorities.
Last July, video of a pulsating blob sparked speculation an extraterrestrial “sewer monster” was living beneath the streets of North Carolina in the US.
But it was revealed to be a colony of prehistoric creatures called bryozoans — thousands of worms — that eat using a set of brown tentacles.
A sheep gave birth to a dead lamb with a human-like face. The calf was born in a village not far from the city of Izmir, Turkey.

Erhan Elibol, a vet, performed Cesarean section on the animal to take the calf out, but was horrified to see that the features of the calf’s snout bore a striking resemblance to a human face.
“I’ve seen mutations with cows and sheep before. I’ve seen a one-eyed calf, a two-headed calf, a five-legged calf. But when I saw this youngster I could not believe my eyes. His mother could not deliver him so I had to help the animal,” the 29-year-old veterinary said.
The lamb’s head had human features on – the eyes, the nose and the mouth – only the ears were those of a sheep
