Well I no expert in this matter, but this orbs have shown intelligence in their movement (i.e. not random), and to reproduce other orbs, therefore  it stands to reason they are a unknown life-form, whether this life-forms are what Alan saw, I do not know.

I was thinking more about the "Fireflies" that Alan Shepard saw outside his capsule and perhaps other other life forms that we don't know about. Do you think that these and orbs are the same thing? The impression I get from what we call orbs is that some are artificially constructed probes (flying in formation with or without a larger craft or even merging together with each other or a larger craft), and some are as you say balls of plasma.

The keyword you are searching for is orbs -- a life form which is essentially electromagnetic in nature (plasma)

Does anyone else out there believe that in many cases these sightings are vacuum or space dwelling life forms? I do believe that some are vessels or probes from other civilisations, but what if some of these sightings are space dwelling life forms? Modern science says NOTHING can survive in the cold vacuum of space, but how can we know for certain what we haven't seen, life flourisher in the most hostile, desolate, boiling, freezing and toxic environments on earth and that opens up our perception to the possibilities of where life can exist in the universe, but what about space its self?
