With active under-the-radar collaboration from American occupation forces, Israel's espionage apparatus, Mossad, slaughtered at least 530 (five hundred and thirty) Iraqi scientists and university academics between April 2003 and June 2005. Assassinations of academics in Iraq hardly ever happened before 2003. The Israeli death-squad focus was on Iraqi nuclear and biomedical scientists, and prominent university professors. Mossad's academic holocaust was executed after the US had failed to persuade the Iraqi scientists to cooperate with, or work for, the US occupation force.
