why do we cry when our emotions are hurt?

I think because the eyes are the windows to the soul and the most focused part of the body they reveal a lot about a person if you take the time to look. The tears are not just for sadness it shows all other emotions if you could only see a persons eyes you could get to know the true person inside. The hand and feet are not as visible as the eyes. They are covered or hide most of the time.I feel if the water was sweat we would not pay attention to it as much and would not connect with the emotion that is taking place at that time.We would miss out on the cleansing and uplifting if it were sweat.LOVE & BLESSINGS ALWAYS

whoa simpleman.. i think you're almost hitting the jackpot there..

marina: i understand what you mean. but biologically, tears are rather unsafe, they blur your vision, create irritating crusties and make your eyes swell up painfully after a bad bout of crying. so theyre not really made for a true biological function comparable to something like adrenaline..although they do clean your eyes of bacteria if you've cried moderately.

Tears are for more than just one purpose. The tears are there so we can't hide our feelings. So others can see those tears and should help lift you up and share love and wisdom with us in a time of need. We can feel others feeling, but we get caught up in every day life and its obsticles and we dont notice, so the tears help get out attention. The eyes are windows to the heart. When the tears flow, feelings are running deep. Tears flow when something touchs our hearts. Sometimes tears are a sign of truth and awakening.

why the eyes? and not hands, feet, mouth... is there something wrong with the eyes when you're hurt, thats why salty water is needed to clear your vision, spiritually?

Well this is what i think my dear friend,

As far as i know your tears are salty coz one of layers of your eyes contain it naturally to protect it when is need it.

you are never hurt dear Reb...it is yourself that create this ilusion...coz soul is never hurt but body when you, generally expect something to ocurrs.

Satisfaction always comes to you when you empower yourself and start taking actions for goals you want to achieve.
