General Strikes shut down the normal operations of a city, state, or nation for a period of time. These strikes aim to force action on a single issue or broader set of concerns. The General Strike is a necessary reaction to key issues facing the American public, issues that have not been addressed in any meaningful way by any branch of government. Unions, mega-corporations, and the ruling major parties have banded together in all out corruption. We’re left with the facts of our disintegrated Republic: an overblown and still growing government that’s failed to deal with the unconscionable wars, lost industries, voter fraud, steadily increasing unemployment, income inequality, crimes of high government officials, and the meaning of citizenship itself.
These are only a few of the many reasons it’s time for a massive citizens revolve.
We The People MUST take back what has been stolen from us: a government of The People, by The People, and for The People. It’s time to make our voices as ONE.
The General Strike campaign argues that under our system of checks and balances, when The Judiciary, The House, AND The Executive branches all fail in their sworn duties to uphold and defend The Constitution, it is our Constitutional right to implement the necessary changes to restore The Constitution, along with the almost dead Bill of Rights. Our very lives depend upon our success.

NO WORK: If you believe your job is in jeopardy by participating in a week-long General Strike, use your own judgement. If you are one of the millions who have already lost their job, then please, STAND UP AND LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD!
NO SCHOOL: Student strikes ARE noticed, even by the controlled main-stream media.
NO SHOPPING: A suspension of all purchasing during the strike will make the mega-corporations notice, and let’s face it: they control (most of) the politicians.
75% of our economy is consumer spending. That means WE have the power to Shut ‘em Down!
The General Strike calls for participants to “Hit the Streets.” Many will be able to demonstrate in DC. But for the rest, local city and state Capital Buildings, City Halls, Major Media outlet hubs, all qualify as demonstration landing sites.
Strikes, Protests, and Demonstrations have brought about the 8 hour work day, womens rights, child labor laws, and civil rights in the U.S. and around the world. Help make our voices louder than the mainstream media and corporate dollars.

Promote ALL Non-Violent Protests, Demonstrations, and this General Strike! Search for and create local activist groups, through www.meetup.com, www.tribe.net, Myspace, and all social networks.
It is imperative for YOU to promote the General Strike for it to have any success. This should include, but not be limited to: writing/publishing articles, Youtube videos, essays, poems, posting in forums, commenting in blogs, starting your own blog, newspaper ads, online ads, local random phone calls, letters to editors, opeds, freeway banners, bumper stickers, car signs, yard signs, street signs, every online newspaper allows comments (NY Times, Washington Post, etc.). Call in to talk radio shows, print out and distribute flyers.
5) Take the lead and help organize a protest - A web tool being used for practical organization is www.meetup.com. You can just type in your ZIP code, join a group with which you share ideas/feelings and which meets near your location, and start organizing.
