A choice

The mountains to either side of me rise up into the night sky. Starlight shining bright. Silver moonbeams dancing along the thick canopy of the forest. Light of the heavens not reaching all the way down. Much darker as my gaze lowers.

Looking around I take in the sight of the ancient trees around me. So quiet. Nothing stirs. Sitting down, with my back against a big tree, relaxing in the silence. Feeling something to my right. Quickly turning my head that way. A lantern off in the distance? Getting up and placing the tree between me and what approaches, I watch.

Closer and closer it comes. Weaving among the trees. Not knowing what it is I hide more behind the tree still watching.

A being floating above the ground. I see the being is four feet off the ground. Glowing. Closer and closer. I can see that the being is glowing from inside out. Details coming into view as I watch. Long red hair. Big deep green eyes. Female. Wearing a garment made of light, glowing the same as she does. Lil flowers all over it.

Snatching my head back so she doesn't see me. Hiding behind the tree. Feeling her so close. Like a child on christmas morning I peek around the tree slowly. She is right there. Eeeeek. "I am not going to harm you." she speaks. Her eyes are so comforting. A soft smile that could melt ice. I realize her lips didn't move when she spoke. A lil chuckle from her as I understand.

Still unsure, about whats going on or what will happen, I want to flee. Leaning closer, extending her hand to me, she speaks again "You don't have to hide in the darkness any longer." I decide to trust her placing my hand in hers.

Lol.  I started a long journey out of the darkness. The story above was a pivitol point for me.  The beggining of the end of my long dark night.  More like sunrise nowadays.
