I have heard lots of scientific predictions about the increase of coronal energy and yes I believe that an ejection from the sun is going to wipe out all electronics on the planet, but I don’t follow how the Galactic alignment will cause or agitate it. It is surely a matter of perspective, the Galactic alignment will be from our perspective on Terra (earth), from it’s own perspective the sun is always in alignment with the centre of the Galaxy, just like I am always in alignment with the North Pole, all I need to do is hold a compass and face it. The sun is practically spherical so there is always a surface facing the Galactic Centre.
