It might be a very natural occurence, we've just never seen it before. Could be a combination of light diffraction and projection on the mist, may well be amplified by a particular frequency of EMF from the earth. It may have happened before and could be the source of legends like Shangrala or Brigadoon. Not saying that it is, but we know so little of how the earth works. Usually when something quite natural happens only once in a hundred years it seems to us to be supernatural.
