More from George Monbiot: For more wonder, rewild the world!

While George begins with the wolves, he goes far beyond them. What he says about the rewilding of man is truly exciting to me! If you have the time, please try to listen to this. Hugs, ~Jean

Wolves were once native to the US’ Yellowstone National Park — until hunting wiped them out. But when, in 1995, the wolves began to come back (thanks to an aggressive management program), something interesting happened: the rest of the park began to find a new, more healthful balance. In a bold thought experiment, George Monbiot imagines a wilder world in which humans work to restore the complex, lost natural food chains that once surrounded us.

How Wolves Change Rivers, narration by George Monbiot . . . this is...

I really liked that.  How amazing. Take something out of the ecosystem and you get unbalance.  Nice to see the wolves back, they're a really nice looking species aren't they.

:) Yep everything requires balance .
...I love deers so much , but yes too many of them ''unchecked'' can cause unsustainability.
...but how about the people, should we get in balance too  :) :) :) .
...well ! people need to get informed & educated though :) .
                                  Namaste Christina :) .

When wolves were reintroduced to Yellowstone National Park in the United States after being absent nearly 70 years, the most remarkable "trophic cascade" occurred. What is a trophic cascade and how exactly do wolves change rivers? George Monbiot explains in this movie remix.
