US Issues “Last” Warning To Israel As Thousands Of American Troops Pour Into Egypt
Reports from the Kremlin today are stating that President Medvedev has given to President Obama Russia’s assurance of “non-interference” over US plans to invade the Israeli blockaded Palestinian territory of Gaza, and which news reports from the region, though denied by Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesman Hossam Zaki, are stating that “thousands” of American Special Forces are massing on the Israeli-Egypt border and are ready to be activated should Israel’s war leaders fail to heed Obama’s “final warning”.
These reports further state that Obama told Medvedev during their private meeting that the reports coming from Geneva detailing the barbaric treatment of the Palestinian people by Israel’s military during the “Operation Cast Lead” Gaza war was “the last straw” and that without an “immediate response” from the United States, Americas credibility, that Obama has sought to repair after 8 years of shameful treatment of the Muslim Nations by Bush, would “cease to exist entirely”.
The Geneva reports Obama was referring to are those being complied by the United Nations who are investigating allegations of war crimes against Israel, and who received chilling testimony from the Public Committee Against Torture in Israel (PCATI), and as we can read as reported by Israel’s Ynet News Service:
“Attorney Majd Bader, an Arab Israeli, told the committee that Palestinians detained by Israel during Operation Cast Lead were held in detention under 'disgraceful" conditions and were subjected to violent Shin Bet interrogations and constant threats.
Speaking to Ynet, Bader said that during his testimony he spoke of the "acute problems of Gazans who are being held in Israeli prisons."
"Some of them said the IDF held detainees in ditches that had been prepared in advance; 50 to 70 people were squeezed into ditches two to three meters (6.5-10 feet) deep and some 50 meters (164 feet) wide," he said. The PCATI representative said the detainees testified to being held handcuffed and blindfolded with no access to restrooms, food or water.”
To the shocking actions of Israel’s Military against the Palestinian peoples during the Gaza war angering Obama we can further read as reported by Britain’s Guardian News Service:
“Shoot and don't worry about the consequences" was the message from commanders, said Marmor. Describing the behaviour of a lieutenant-colonel who briefed the troops, Marmor added: "His whole demeanour was extremely gung-ho. This is very, very different from my usual experience. I have been doing reserve duty for 12 years, and it was always an issue how to avoid causing civilian injuries. He said that in this operation, we are not taking any chances. Morality aside, we have to do our job. We will cry about it later."
These are not the first allegations of war crimes levelled at the Israeli military. Last Thursday, the special rapporteur to the UN Human Rights Council, Richard Falk, said that the assault on Gaza appeared to be a "war crime of the greatest magnitude" and called on the UN to establish an experts' group to investigate potential violations.
Worrying new questions have also been raised about the culture of the Israeli military, indicating a high level of dehumanisation and disregard for Palestinians among the chain of command and even among the military rabbinate.
An investigation by reporter Uri Blau, published on Friday in Haaretz, disclosed how Israeli soldiers were ordering T-shirts to mark the end of operations, featuring grotesque images including dead babies, mothers weeping by their children's graves, a gun aimed at a child and bombed-out mosques.
Another T-shirt designed for infantry snipers bears the inscription "Better use Durex" next to a picture of a dead Palestinian baby, with his weeping mother and a teddy bear beside him. A shirt designed for the Givati Brigade's Shaked battalion depicts a pregnant Palestinian woman with a bull's-eye superimposed on her belly, with the slogan, in English, "1 shot, 2 kills”.
Further adding to Obama’s anger against the Israelis, these reports continue, was the Jewish Nations betrayal of their United States ally in ordering the taking of more Palestinian land for homes they had previously told the Americans they would not do, and as we can read as reported by Israel’s Haaretz News Service:
“In defiance of President Obama's call for a halt to all settlement growth, Israel has authorized the construction of 300 new homes in the West Bank, Haaretz reports.
According to Army Radio said 60 of the 300 homes slated for the Talmon settlement in the West Bank have already been built and that [Defense Minister Ehud] Barak had approved plans to construct another 240 units there.”
Though Obama had previously warned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the “era of the blank US cheque is over”, Russian Intelligence Analysts are reporting that Israel is “fully prepared” to engulf the entire Middle East, including the Americans, as it views the new US President not as a “friend”, but an “enemy” who is threatening their very existence by his rapprochement to the Muslim Nations of the region.
To the situation Obama and Netanyahu currently find themselves in it is, perhaps, best summarized by Israel’s Haaretz News Service who plainly state in their report titled “Netanyahu must remember U.S. is stronger than Israel”:
“Netanyahu's major stumble during his first 100 days was the crisis in relations with the United States. He is convinced that U.S. President Barack Obama was determined to pick a fight with him in order to appease the Arab world at Israel's expense.
Yet it seems he has not done enough to fix the relationship, nor has he managed to leverage his agreement to a Palestinian state to secure better coordination with Obama and his administration. The administration's insistence on a settlement freeze put America on a collision course with Netanyahu, who is not willing to halt construction completely.”
Unfortunately, however, for the rest of the World is that this “collision course” Israel is on with a newly determined American President (and who many Israelis believe is a “secret Muslim”) can only lead to great loss of life and more suffering as the Israelis have clearly shown that they not only have a total disregard for any human life other than their own, their vicious and unprovoked 1967 attack upon the US Navy Warship Liberty, that left 34 American sailors dead and 174 wounded, shows, also, they have no qualms whatsoever of killing their own allies.

My first Confrontation with the wrong people in Israel was when I landed on a Palestinian website, now 11 years ago. There were pictures of Israeli soldiers at a checkpoint who kicked aside a newborn baby or a Palestinian woman. This woman was not allowed to go through the checkpoints to go to a doctor in Jerusalem and delivered her baby on the spot. I started watching the webcams produced at the checkpoints and my complaint grow and grow even greater. The land of the Palestinians has been taken away and the Palestinians are treated like animals.
My struggle was born.
Now for several years I hang out the Palestinian flag around Christmas time. Many people in my street (Christians) were not amused and asked me why? My answer was this::: Jesus could be in my opinion a Paslestinian, who will say?
And further I have made new dutch lyrics on the song Jerusalem, about the Palestinians losing their home their dignity their future. I send the lyrics to israelians websites and newspapers such as the Jerusalem Post.
Of course I have my hope on Obama, but evidence has not yet come. Maybe maybe this time an American President will stand up for them ...
