PATRCIA i guess this spill is not the only one of this magnitude in the past 50 years and the earth hasnt died.. so thats how people are starting to view this....its a catastophe but it has happened before. The past disasters (exxon - valdez, Ixtoc) have dropped off the radar of the media, so has it on peoples minds and the remaining irreprarable damage is still happening from the past oil spills ......outta sight, outta mind.
