Living Under WaterSeptember, 2014Putney Mountain, VermontBy Daily Art NewsFrom late August through all September the dominant theme on a soul level is of living under water, due to the fact that more planets are in water than any other element, and many more septile aspects are formed between planets than usual in the course of a month.Water is the element of soul and emotion, that presides over the inner life of human beings, which is the dimension easiest to avoid and hardest to fathom, because of the layers of inner truth we hide from ourselves, and the layers we disown and project. And the septile is the most intense planetary angle, and the one hardest to spot in the birth chart, where two planets are 51.4 degrees apart. The experience of septiled planets is of being pushed underwater and held there without breath until supreme motivation arises from someplace deep within, that's strong enough to burst free of the paralyzing pressure.
This underwater septile effect is most acute in emotional realms where unresolved issues remain from childhood, from ancestry and from past lives. It's difficult to get at these core issues because they tend to be surrounded by layers of distortion, fear and projection. After all, we learned how to deal with our inner truths from wounded incomplete people who learned how to deal with their truth from other wounded incomplete people.
Because it's much easier to recognize someone else's darkness than our own, we have a blind zone that deflects us from gazing directly into our own wounds, anguish and distortion. So we draw people into our lives, as significant others -- parents, siblings, children, lovers, neighbors, co-workers, and collaborators -- whose purpose is to out-picture and dramatize the unresolved parts of our own nature that we haven't yet learned to recognize, own and transform. During this underwater, septile-heavy period of the late summer of 2014, you'll notice outbreaks of trapped feeling erupting all around you, and your own buttons being pushed, sometimes beyond belief. The best response is for you to take a deep breath (because heavy pressure tends to make you stop breathing) and realize that a karmic drama is going on that contains the redeeming ability to awaken you to your own distortions, transform your blind spots, and usher you into the fuller nature of the person you were born to be.
When your soul chose to come back from spirit and join the living on this side of the veil, you agreed to work particular karmic strands that are characteristic of your past lives and of your ancestry. We all carry personal, ancestral and collective karmas that provide strands of raw material we need to re-weave with our own creative energies into some new shape.
From a Different Type of ArtWhen pressure traps us under these heavy water realms, it's easy to forget the creative capacity we have to achieve the re-weaving. It's easy to succumb to the idea that others are doing it to us. That feeling is a sure sign that you've entered the defensive layers surrounding your own inner core. If you persevere at these moments, countering feelings of helplessness and victimization with a dawning awareness of the transformative power of your own inner nature, the septile transforms from a punishing, life-threatening tyrant into a wise Zen Master who knows what you are really made of, even when you yourself forget.
There's a Zen parable of the acolyte who asks the master for the right way to seek truth. Because Zen is the direct way, instead of answering in words the Master pushes the student's head underwater and holds it there until the student finds the inner strength to throw off the Master's grip and comes back above the surface gasping for breath. This indicates that until your search for truth has the same primal urgency that your search for breath has when breath is denied to you, you haven't broken through yet.
While you're held under the surface of primal emotions and unresolved karmas, when you're caught in the disowned feelings of your own characteristic blind spots, you have the ability to harness a soul force deep within, that will burst you through the pressure into a freedom that you previously lacked, because your self-knowledge was incomplete. You inhabited a partial existence, an illusion, in a world of people inhabiting their own illusions. In such a way the universe becomes our Zen master this month, knowingly cornering us with the pressure of our own unresolved issues, not for reasons of punishment, but as a prelude to enlightenment.

Learn to Be a Connector
A person who lives in a state of unity with the Source of all life doesn’t look any different from ordinary folks. These people don’t wear a halo or dress in special garments that announce their godlike qualities. But when you notice that they go through life as the lucky ones who seem to get all the breaks, and when you begin to talk to them, you realize how distinctive they are compared to people living at ordinary levels of awareness. Spend a few moments in conversation with these people who are connected to the power of intention and you see how unique they are.
These people, whom I call connectors to signify their harmonious connection with the field of intention, are individuals who have made themselves available for success. It’s impossible to get them to be pessimistic about achieving what they desire in their lives. Rather than using language that indicates that their desires may not materialize, they speak from an inner conviction that communicates their profound and simple knowing that the universal Source supplies everything.
They don’t say, With my luck things won’t work out. Instead, you’re much more likely to hear something like, I intend to create this and I know it will work out. No matter how you might attempt to dissuade them by pointing out all the reasons why their optimism ought to be curtailed, they seem blissfully blind to reality-check repercussions. It’s almost as if they’re in a different world, a world in which they can’t hear the reasons why things won’t work out.
If you engage them in conversation about this idea, they simply say something like, I refuse to think about what can’t happen, because I’ll attract exactly what I think about, so I only think about what I know will happen. It doesn’t matter to them what’s happened before. They don’t relate to the concepts of failure or it’s impossible. They simply, without fanfare, are unaffected by reasons for being pessimistic. They’ve made themselves available for success, and they know and trust in an invisible force that’s all-providing. They’re so well connected to the all-providing Source that it’s as if they have a natural aura preventing anything from getting through that might weaken their connection to the creative energy of the power of intention.
Connectors appreciate the world and everything in it. The same connection that they experience with nature they feel toward all beings, including those who lived before and those who have yet to arrive. They have a consciousness of the oneness, and therefore they make no distinctions such as them or those other people. To a connector, it is all we. If you could observe their inner world, you’d discover that they’re hurt by pain inflicted on others. They don’t have the concept of enemies, since they know that all of us emanate from the same divine Source. They enjoy the differences in the appearance and customs of others rather than disliking, criticizing, or feeling threatened by them. Their connection to others is of a spiritual nature, but they don’t separate themselves spiritually from anyone regardless of where they might live or how different their appearances or customs may be from their own. In their heart, connectors feel an affinity to all of life, as well as to the Source of all of life.
