Hi Trudy,
The least thing the farmer says is that they (ets) would give him (?) precise information about climate changing and any changes that will happen on the planet in advance.
After the translation of this last part, they walk towards the camera and the translator says "Bloody hell, we've spoken a lot, didn't we?" (Actually the swearing was a bit ruder than that, hehe!)
Hi Torz, when I said he exaggerated I meant he made it sound a bit more detailed than it was, but he didn't change the story at all.
Sometimes the translation would be word by word and sometimes he would add some words to make it more interesting. Eg.: The farmer said he was asked by the 'ets' if he could see the golden light. The translator would say: The 'ets' asked him if could see this bright sphere of golden light. He would be adding the words 'bright' and 'sphere', that the farmer didn't mention, just to make it more interesting.
But all in all the translation was quite literal.
Simmy is there any chance you can translate and write down what the farmer said so that we can know exactly what he was saying and , yes I agree with you, although it is just too bizarre to be made up, I do feel it was embellished by the translator...
We would be eternally grrateful
Torz xx
Very interesting indeed. The translator was quite an annoying guy and he kind of exaggerated when translating. The story was a bit less 'cinematographic' in portuguese, which in my opinion makes it more believable. Thanks Trudy!
