I've read his biography (Carl Calleman) and he seems like a very reliable, "down to earth" person. It makes me happy when people like him (a respected scientist) dedicate their time to something so "new agey" like this.
Like you, I don't really focus on a particular date but I think a big change will happen by the end of 2012. I am looking forward to it!!
