Day Two!! :D

How's it going? I've actually lost quite a bit of weight already, and I feel lighter and non-bloated. I've found it hard going to sleep last night for some reason, but besides that the day went quite well.

I'll be drinking my cup of coffee and then it's water and juice only.

Keep it up guys, you're doing great!!

When I read up about it a year ago, I wondered the same thing and I found out that first the fat goes, then muscles, then the organs. It doesn't affect the muscles too much since fasting is quite popular with body builders. I'll look it up tonight, thanks for joining Joshua!! :D

It's half way through the day but I'm joining in guys! I just have one question though. When these bodies we occupy get hungry do they not eat muscle tissue first then move to fat tissue, or was I half asleep in biology? ;P .... It doesn't matter too much anyways, but I was curious.

How is the fasting going for you guys so far? I drank my morning coffee and now am sipping on my second tall glass of water. I find that when the hunger pangs come, drink a lot of water and it'll pass. I know that for me, it's when I cook the meals for my children that it's the hardest. Something that helps, is whenever you smell something delicious, close your eyes and visualize yourself having eaten all you want and that your stomach is full. At the end of the day pat yourself on the back for a job well-done and make yourself a hot bowl of tomato soup to reward yourself.

Fasting tomorrow!! Going to be lots of fun doing this with you, I know I'll be having a really hard time resisting when my husband's going to be eating pizzas in my face, LOL!!

I have this stuff called green goodness which is superfood and all kinds of fruits/veggies and phytonutrients and it's actually quite filling, so i think that along with eating apples and drinking lots of grape and orange juice should keep me pretty full. I don't watch tv at all so food commercials will be no bother. As for ketosis, i've known a lot of bodybuilders that let their body get into that stage to shed fat and burn carbs. You should post that video, i'd be interested to see it.

Greg, I would say start very gradually for the first 2 days -- incorporate more water, fruits and vegetables and reduce foods that harder to digest like processed foods, pasta, potatoes, meat, nuts, cheese... What I am doing today is sticking to fruits and vegetables only. The hard part you may find difficult to overcome is the hunger pangs on the 3rd or 4th day, all you will be thinking about is food. So, turn off your tv when food commercials come on, remind yourself that you're doing this to give your digestive system a big break and your body a chance to strengthen itself and raise its vibration in the process.

Once you stop eating, your body goes into a stage called Ketosis, it will be taking everything it needs from the fat it stocked. It won't take it from your muscles unless you're deathly thin. You will notice that your tongue gets coated white, it's normal... just like when you wake up from a long night sleep, you will notice the same thing happening.

One thing I've noticed when fasting for a week, you realize that your body is perfectly able to survive without food. It's incredibly empowering because you know that food doesn't have to control you. You will also find that at some points your mind gets incredibly clear and your senses and everything around you gets heightened. Plus you'll notice just a reduction in weight that stabilizes over the days that follow.

There's one man on Youtube I remember following last year, he fasted for forty days straight and made a video blog of it. If you're interested in watching, I'll go find the link and post it here.

this will be my first time fasting ever, so hopefully i'll see some good results. Can you take wheatgrass or vitamins or anything while doing it?
