VOTE FOR THE INTERNET NOW ! YOUR SUPPORT IS NEEDED !

Friends,

Please share this E-mail to all Contacts ! Thank You
We Cannot Allow this to Happen from the Telecom Companies?

The Conservatives have put forward an invasive, anti-Internet set of “Lawful Access” policies
that would have Internet providers collect our personal information without court oversight.

If this goes through, officials will have real-time access to our online information.

as many of us as possible need to send pro-Internet letters to candidates now.

The good news is that we have some amazing successes to build on:

The Green Party got the ball rolling by actively encouraging their members
to sign up as pro-Internet candidates.

Conservative Candidate Sébastien Forté showed his support when he went so far as
to join us one of our open meetings in Montreal.

Jack Layton and many New Democrats quickly came out in favour of the open Internet.

NDP candidates showed support by handing out flyers and wearing pins,
and the party later introduced a digital policy that calls for an end to usage-based billing.

Jack Layton even called the OpenMedia.ca office last night to pledge his support!
Many Liberal candidates have committed to stand up for the Internet.

Pressured by OpenMedia.ca during an online panel discussion,
the Liberals went as far as making a commitment to prevent anti-competitive behaviour
by separating Big Telecom’s Internet service businesses.

This is momentum we can build on to get all the parties and candidates on our side.
We can’t do it without you.

Thank you for making the election about issues again.

Vote for the Internet

I'm Voting for the Internet

Big phone and cable companies are putting a pay meter on your Internet
and increasing prices across the board.

These big telecom companies are now charging upwards of
$10 a gigabyte of data
when it costs them only a penny to provide it.

This is gouging, pure and simple.

To make matters worse the Conservatives just put forward,
an invasive, anti-Internet set of “Lawful Access” policies that would have Internet providers
collect our personal information without court oversight.

If this goes through, officials will have real-time access to our online information.

We must ensure that our newly elected MPs are committed
to safeguarding the open and accessible Internet.

As many of us as possible need to send pro-Internet letters to candidates.
Fill in your information below and we'll send a letter on your behalf

Sincerely,

Steve Anderson, Lindsey Pinto, and the OpenMedia.ca community

P.S. Help the OpenMedia.ca community promote pro-Internet platforms
by contributing to the Vote for the Internet fund.

P.P.S. Stay engaged in the election by joining us on Twitter and Facebook for tonight’s Leaders Debate.
