Comet Lulin

I know it's not about the moon but it's quite interesting.

DISCONNECTED TAIL: On Feb. 4th, a team of Italian astronomers witnessed "an intriguing phenomenon in Comet Lulin's tail." Team leader Ernesto Guido explains: "We photographed the comet using a remotely-controlled telescope in New Mexico, and our images clearly showed a disconnection event. While we were looking, part of the comet's plasma tail was torn away."

Guido and colleagues believe the event was caused by a magnetic disturbance in the solar wind hitting the comet. It's a plausible hypothesis. Magnetic mini-storms in comet tails have been observed before--most famously in 2007 when NASA's STEREO spacecraft watched a CME crash into Comet Encke. Encke lost its tail in dramatic fashion, much as Comet Lulin did yesterday.

Ya Reb, thanks for the update but are you sure about the time and date?

It's 2:45 PM EST on Nov 29. At no point anywhere in the world can it be more than 24 hours ahead

so wait is the picture below suppost to be what it looks like tonight. If that's the case can somebody go out and confirm the moons presence.

And if anyone wants to read about it, i was in a heated argument with HR about the moon situation. Take from it what you will.

Okay, I must admit that a couple of days ago I also wondered where the moon was and this question has managed to get more and more of my attention thanks to you guys :). And I am stuck in a giant internal battle, jees, sometimes I wonder whether I have become schizo!! There is this "ego voice", the head, just begging me to get real, not to be so stupid, of course the moon is there and no aliens or entities or replacing it. What are you thinking???? And then there is this more silent voice, that is supporting the "phantasy route" of thinking, approving it. Even if there should be nothing going on, I have just learned a lesson in creative thinking and imagination. As a child I once read a sentence, and had forgotten about it untill now: it was a prisoner who wrote it: "As long as I can hear the music in my head, smell the fresh air in my imagination, feel the coolness of water tingling at my fingers, You have not really managed to imprison me".
