The Yellowstone caldera (the circle in red) in Wyoming
is the world's largest super volcano.

25 inches higher
Since the last eruption, the volcano had about 30 smaller eruptions. The latest was 70000 years ago. In early 2004, scientists realized that the land above the caldera of about 7 centimeters per year increases. Between 2007 and 2010 the volcano appeared to have stalled, but since the volcano has taken a gulp of air, the soil around the volcano has risen about 25 centimeters. "It is an extraordinary observation, especially as it is on such a large area, "said Bob Smith, professor of geology at the University of Utah.
